Thomas Guise Solicitors, one of Worcestershire’s leading law firms have recently completed the sale of Midlands based Care Home Group,
Sister Dora (Stretford) Limited. The chain of care homes, which cares for almost 140 residents, was sold to an established, larger care home operator for £6 million at the tail end of 2005.
The former owners of Sister Dora were represented by Thomas Guise, solicitors of Worcester and lead partner Wayne Thomas commented: “This was a complex transaction with some unusual features. It was important to complete the deal by Christmas and all parties were pleased that we were able to meet this deadline, with the minimum disruption to care and service at each of the homes.
A lot a credit must also go to Rob Field of agents Christie & Co who did so much to achieve this result.” He added, “The care home sector is experiencing increasing consolidation, with the larger operators buying up smaller ones. Our specialist team has assisted many of our care home clients in similar transactions and it looks like the coming year will be even busier.”
