Promotions at Thomas Guise Solicitors
Midlands law firm Thomas Guise has announced associate promotions for solicitors Tom Bartley-Smith and Geoff Ellis.

With over 25 years’ experience, Geoff Ellis is a hugely respected solicitor who heads the litigation team at Thomas Guise. Geoff’s clients – who range from private individuals to multi-national companies – value his ‘no nonsense’ approach to dispute resolution. Geoff, who began his working life as a criminal lawyer, says: “I’ve seen plenty of changes to the law over the years, but what remains is the need for practical advice and the ability to show clients the wood from the trees.”
Tom Bartley-Smith joined Thomas Guise in January 2008 from a City law firm. He now heads the corporate team and spends much of his time helping clients buy, sell or re-structure their businesses. Tom’s clients are spread the length and breadth of the country, but he admits he gets real satisfaction from helping local businesses. He says: “My parents owned and operated a small business for the best part of a decade. I know exactly how hard it can be. The single biggest pleasure I get from this job is helping owner/operators – just like mum and dad – through the hard times and watching their businesses grow.”
